Rationale:
The student work samples presented are a result of the Technology Training Event. These are educator created examples of the digital tools learned.
The school has been using 1:1 for four years now and teachers have become complacent in using technology in their comfort zone. The technologies presented all offered free, user friendly subscriptions in which educators could enhance their classroom into a more effective student centered learning environments through the use of technology.
Devices used at the school are primarily iPads. When designing the course content, finding APPs that are easily accessible and student friendly was a priority. Flipgrid, Edpuzzle and Quizizz all fit this hardware requirement. Blendspace, though not an APP, can be bookmarked to the home screen allowing for easy student access.
Many teachers had prior experience with Kahoot!, which is very similar to Quizizz. Quizizz was the appropriate tool for this event though because it allows students to read and answer questions at their own pace.
